Twitter - A hidden super power!

Facebook, Facebook and Facebook .. .Nothing else. Everywhere we will hear only one word for social media marketing and that is this billion dollar yet eight alphabet word which has become a landing page these days.
But here I want to ask all of you Facebookians...Have you ever wondered about another online platform whose magic can be felt in only 140 characters?? .. No ?? Then probably you have lost a big deal! Yeah and you have to trust me here.

Twitter, a sophisticated micro blogging site which would make you go gaga over it, if you try to explore it once. It is a beautiful, sensitive and tiny yet wide world of Tweets, Tweeples and Twangouts. Limit your exotic feelings in 140 characters (every now and then) -Yes ! I mean it and sit back to watch the magic.

You can listen to the conversations of those you are following and, just as importantly, you can listen to what others (including your customers) are saying about you, your company and your products and services.
Twitter has emerged out as a major platform for creating a brand awareness. Recently Frooti launched its new TVC commercial via twitter and it received an overwhelming response from its fans. Initially it launched a teaser #SRKLovesFrooti and very soon it started trending in India. Thousands of people started using this teaser and as soon as the team Frooti realized the hidden potential of this trend, it launched its beautiful TV commercial quietly thus making people go crazy over it. This is what exactly Twitter do. Brand can get a fabulous response just by executing intelligent steps.

Facebook - A brief!

Internet - My passion since I first came across it in the year 2001. Every time I was able to dial up my broadband, I used to get connected to the net and the first page which I try to get into was www.rediff.com. Oh my god ! What amazing days were those ? Very few sites to linger upon yet it was so much of fun. Time passed and I , of course along with all of you :D , witnessed the era of Orkut. The complete day was spent on sending scraps and the toughest competition was to increase the no. of scraps with respect to our own friends and siblings. Gradually , Facebook came and Orkut  gone. Everywhere we have started hearing one word of interest - Facebook, Facebook and Facebook. Nothing else.

For common people like us , for celebrities , for businesses , Facebook was coming up as a best platform to showcase. And with the time, it does created its own place.Cheers to it ! :) With the exclusive features of photo tagging , sharing , posting updates , Ads , and most important generating LIKES , Facebook turned as a must platform for every business to generate more revenues. The reason why I have written 'must' rather than 'best; is because business flourish mostly when millions of customers can get info about it and nothing could be better than Facebook to showcase your products in front of millions !

Last year on 30th March, Facebook rolled down some exciting features like beautiful cover images , custom tabs and most important THE TIMELINE ! Woww. What an amazing invention. Days passed and brands started coming up in their new avatars, Trendy cover images , highlighted custom tabs and time wise timeline.

You like a photo , your friends would see it and may like it too . You share an update, your friends would come across it and may share it too thus taking your tales amongst their friends.News Feeds, Facebook ads, groups ,communities , are again some excellent features with a good take!

To be continued ........

Marketing is creating Artificial Needs !!

Marketing Sector is the strongest and most dynamic pillar of every company. As we know that the main aim of every company is to capture the market, whether it is a software company, a toy company, food chain, or a health care organization. These various organizations knows all the needs of the consumer whether stated need, real need, delight need or most vibrant amongst all; the secret need.
Gone are those days when people only demand for ‘Roti, Kapda and Maakan’ (food, clothes & shelter).
Now, they need ‘roti’ but will demand for ‘tandoori roti’ instead.
They need clothes but they will demand for the branded and fashionable ones.
They need shelter but their secret desire is to own a flat of some branded real estate organization like Omaxe etc.
Do you think that this transformation of thought is somewhere hidden from these rulers of the market??? No… Not at all! Rather these producers are trying their best to attract the general public by providing them lucrative offers and capturing their minds.
Consider the example of Lakme, the most dominating, skin care company made Katrina Kaif as its brand ambassador. She is always singing the saga of Lakme soaps and products in the T.V. commercials. And as usual the innocent consumers are driven towards the smooth, shiny skin and soft healthy hairs thus forgetting the fact that she is a celebrity and use hundreds of other beautification techniques and treatments rather than that Lakme soap only.
Let’s move to another example of frozen foods. We have noticed these readymade pasteurized frozen snacks dumped in those refrigerators of Big Bazaar or other retail outlets. We all find them too fresh and tasty on those T.V. commercials and long to buy them but later we realize that though these readymade foods saves our time, yet, it does not have that delicious taste as in the homemade food.
It’s all about the marketing of the various products that rules the minds as well as the pockets of the consumers. This marketing always smells the basic needs of the customer and transforms it to basic plus artificial needs. Marketing of a product is nowadays done in such a way that the consumers not only demand for the product which is a necessity for them, instead they are made to buy things which might not be their need but just for the sake that it appears to be.
Overall, if consumer needs drive them to the market and make producers to come out with something they need, then on the other hand these producers also come out with products and market them so well that consumers are moved to buy them. Hence, Marketing is creating Artificial Needs.
